I have always had a love for old Hollywood films and fashions of bygone times, including medieval and Victorian and I knew from an early age I had a passion for vintage clothing. I started sewing at the age of 9, attended evening classes by age 14 and went onto study at Bournemouth Arts University graduating in 2010 with a degree in Costume with Performance Design.
I was incredibly lucky and went on to work in the TV, Film and Theatre industry. I’ve worked on shows such as the West End hit ‘Wicked’, a UK tour of ‘Seven Brides for Seven Brothers’, ‘Sherlock Holmes Game of Shadows’, ‘XFactor’ and ‘Crimson Petal and the White’ to name but a few.
In 2014 I went to work in the US and on returning home in 2015, it was by chance that with a rare opportunity I set up my own business.
I have been working with the Princes Trust since mid-2015 and in January 2016 I secured funding to give my Vintage Inspired Clothing business a kick start. I create vintage inspired special occasion wear with a range that would also be suitable for the Mother of the Bride/ Groom as well as other special occasions.
ECV is now based within Bella Rose Boutique, a Mother of the Bride/ Groom and Special occasion wear shop that I am a partner in and also sells other brands of outfits and also hats/ fascinators, shoes and bags.
I believe wholeheartedly in British Made products and so I currently hand make everything myself.
I also with a couple of local shops who recommend my services to create bespoke outfits, I also work with Bridal shops and alter wedding dresses.
